This 1944 BSA Paratrooper folding bike was made for the British Royal Air Force by Birmingham Small Arms (BSA). Designed to fold for transport during wartime operations, it’s one of several fascinating military bicycles on display at the Marin Museum of Bicycling.

Come see it in person during our Anniversary Cycles Swap on June 6th from 9am–2pm.

Stop by, explore the collection, and celebrate cycling history with us!

A special new addition to the Marin Museum of Bicycling 📹

This incredible camera bike was donated by Mark Forman, who rode and filmed from it during the New York City Marathons and even used it to pre-ride the Olympic MTB course ahead of the 1996 Atlanta Games.

A huge thank you as well to Mush Emmons for generously donating the camera that helped capture the ride from behind the bars.

Now on display at the museum, it’s a unique piece of cycling and media history.

We lost a true legend last week. Mert Lawwill leaves behind a legacy that forever changed the world of riding. Hearing Zapata Espinoza (Zap) and Joe Breeze speak about his incredible accomplishments is a reminder of how many lives he inspired along the way. His innovation and fearless spirit will never be forgotten.

We will miss you, Mert.

Otis Guy with his 1882 Bayliss-Thomas “Harvard” high wheeler. In the 1970s Otis was a top-category road racer, and on fat tires he clocked one of the fastest times on Repack. He’s among the rare few who lined up at Repack, at the first NORBA National Championships (1983), and at the inaugural UCI Mountain Bike World Championships (1990). Thanks Otis!

You never know what you’ll come across at the Marin Museum of Bicycling. We had the honor of Craig Flax bringing by the one-of-one 1993 Panoramic Tandem Breezer so we could see and enjoy in person. Joe designed the frame and Ibis built the sample. Yes these guys are friends!

A special day full of great people and special moments. Come by the museum to see what surprises may be in store for you on your visit!

Yesterday, we had the incredible museum member Matt Harvey from stop by to share his expertise on ball bearings. Give it a watch to learn how these small but powerful components helped shape the machines that drive our modern world.
