PRICKETTS FORT INVITES VISITORS TO RELIVE THE PIONEERING SPIRIT OF CAPTAIN JACOB PRICKETT AND HIS FAMILY. Prickett's Fort State Park uses a living history style of interpretation to preserve, document and exhibit the past. It features an 18th century recreation of the original Pricketts Fort which provided a place of refuge from Native American attack. In addition, guests enjoy visiting the origin

al 19th century Job Prickett House, Prickett Cemetery, Visitor Center, and Museum Gift Shop. The Junction Cafe has recently been added so guests can purchase refreshments while visiting Prickett's Fort State Park.

It is a beautiful day at Pricketts Fort to come out and watch some of the best blacksmiths in NCWV demonstrate blacksmithing at the ABA Hammer-In from 10AM to 4PM! Regular admission applies and allows you to tour the Historic Fort and Job Prickett House in addition to watching the demonstrations. The Junction Cafe is also open!

Pricketts Fort is open today, June 19th for tours of the Historic Fort and Job Prickett House from 10AM to 4PM. Regular admission applies.

Tonight, Friday, June 19th from 7-8:30PM, the Pricketts Fort Memorial Foundation will host a FREE Outdoor Concert in the Prickett's Fort State Park Amphitheater, with Bill Stalnaker.

The Junction Cafe is open for all your concession needs so come out to Pricketts Fort for a full day of fun!

The Pricketts Fort Memorial Foundation would like to thank Fran Kirk and all the actors that participated in Whispers in the Wind at Pricketts Fort on May 22nd and 23rd, 2026. We'd also like to thank everyone who came out to see the show.

We've got another amazing weekend coming up at Pricketts Fort! Rain or Shine, we'll be hosting the Primitive Trade Fair next weekend, June 12th to the 14th, 2026! Visiting the Primitive Trade Fair will be FREE with vendors set up in the Visitor Center.

Tickets must be purchased at the Visitor Center to tour the Fort, and the Job Prickett House. Tickets are $8 for adults, $6 for seniors, and $4 for kids ages 6 – 12 (Kids under 6 and members of the Pricketts Fort Memorial Foundation are FREE).
