Steiner Museum Steiner museum is a logging and pioneer museum that is owned by the people of Oscoda County. This gives you 4 issues (1 year) of the Wilderness Chronicle.

Steiner Museum is a Pioneer and Logging Museum dedicated to preserving the history of Oscoda County and the pioneers who settled this area. It is devoted to collecting and displaying artifacts from those who settled our County. Steiner Museum also publishes the Wilderness Chronicle a 64 page magazine that comes out 4 times a year. The Chronicle covers 11 northeast counties of Michigan, highlightin

g a different County each issue. However Oscoda County stories of pioneers are published in each issue. You may subscribe to the Wilderness Chronicle by sending a check made out to FRIENDS OF STEINER MUSEUM, for $15.00 to WC Editor, PO Box 400, Mio, MI 48647. You may also submit stories and or pictures about any of the 11 counties we cover to the Editor at the same physical address or via email to [email protected]

The counties that are covered by the Wilderness Chronicle are: Alcona, Alpena, Cheboygan, Crawford, Iosco, Montmorency, Ogemaw, Oscoda, Otsego, Presque Isle and Roscommon. We are always looking for interesting stories about any of these counties.
