We all walk through life without really observing the view. We put one foot in front of the other as fast as we can, with the destination as our goal. But is the goal really so important?

I suggest that this may not always be the best path. I submit that the journey is the goal itself. The destination is merely the result of the journey and, by definition, the end of the search.

Lately, I find myself traveling a bit slower on my journeys. I take time to observe the steps in front of me, while not forgetting to glance back at the path I've just traveled. This journey of life is not solely about the result or the destination. You see, the destination is death, and the journey is undoubtedly 'life' itself...

Life, by its very nature, is a journey rather than a destination. Live your life at a slower pace and seek out the incredible little waterfalls that captivate your mind. When you reach the stream in the forest, pause to look back and forward, and give thanks to God for the beauty of life and the wonderful experiences encountered on the journey.

May your destination extend beyond your horizons... May your journey be everlasting. — Dennis

It is "that" time of the year. The art show season. The time of the year I put my best foot forward and bring my art to the public in the real world.

No sitting in my office dreaming of far-off places my heart longs to see. No more lazy days with a few hours of shop time and nice three-mile walks. No... it's art sale season.

Now before you all start to shed a tear on my behalf, I have to bring the "other" truth to my words. I participate in this dreaded "art " season here in Scottsdale, Arizona. Surrounded by the Sonoran Desert and all of the beautiful weather the "snowbirds" of this world submit fortunes to participate in.

I truly love my time here and the two major places I show are Arizona Fine Art Expo and Anticus - Fine Art, Books, Jewelry, and Design in "Old" town Scottsdale.

The EXPO is a 10 week show that is the most rewarding experience an artist can have (IMHO). Being surrounded by 100 artists from all over the world for three months really does invigorate the artistic soul. Along with EXPO, being able to show in one of the finest galleries in the west brings another layer of joy.

So shed no tears but please do stop by and say Hi!! ...d

There are only a few places in the world that can literally take my breath away. This is one of those places.
The size and scope are one thing .

What is in a name? What is it that conjures up certain emotions and expectations in a name?

It is how we simple creatures keep our inner filing cabinets organized. If I say "New York" we all think Manhattan or Fifth Avenue. Of course, I could say "Hawaii" and we all know what kind of reactions that brings forth! Sun, sand and a Mai Tai on the beach!!!

"Horizontal Time"

The soft clouds drift by the small opening in the red ceiling. They are the only sense of movement in this otherwise static environment.
Little bits of white on a outline of blue.
The entire sky seems to be drifting by as I stand here in the rock splendor.
I am beginning to think I am the one moving thru space ?
My mind fills that void and assures me I am only strolling thru time,not space..

The canyon quickly changes and as I turn the camera the vertical expanse very quietly spins to horizontal.
Still the clouds drift by .Time has no relevance here.....d

Downy, soft clouds gently coercing
the intense rays of an August sun
to travel in practiced patterns.
Shadow and Light slowly dancing
with the red rock spires as their partner.
It is only thru the benevolent nature
of the Earth Mother that such joyous
sights are revealed.

Sedona gives the viewer a reason to
believe nature can heal our wounded minds.
Stop and watch. Look upon the perfection.
Set your gaze on the distant horizon.
