Emery Community Arts Center

Emery Community Arts Center Invigorating the Arts in Western Maine. The Emery Community Arts Center has become a key venue for creative expression in western Maine.

Flexible performance spaces and multipurpose venues offer opportunities for community and campus arts groups to create and perform for audiences of varying sizes, in settings designed for maximum versatility. It is named in honor of Ted and Marguerite Emery, arts enthusiasts and long-time Farmington residents. This technology-rich environment enables students, faculty, and community arts groups to

participate in creating fresh, imaginative art, such as experimental theater, electronic music, and poetry readings combining light sculptures and new music forms. The flexible spaces of Emery also supports more traditional art forms such as student art exhibitions, film workshops, dance recitals and chamber music concerts.

Be sure to join us later this afternoon at 2pm in the Emery Flex Space Gallery as Etienne Desrosiers, Apollo Donovan, Kimlie Gillespie, Elayne Gustafson, Stanley Keach, Sean Maher, Jed Malinowski, Shawn Morin, Grace Pimenta and Trinity Smith present their capstone projects with artist takes for the 2024 senior Visual Art exhibition, "By Any Means Necessary".
This year’s senior show spans a vibrant landscape of storytelling modalities: graphic novels, hijacked bible tracts, experiments in handmade cinema, a tarot deck, trading cards and charmingly absurd pen and ink drawings.
