Motor Muse-The Art of the Car Exhibition will be opening soon at Lawrence Street Gallery.

Lawrence Street Gallery is thrilled to present the essence of artistic expression related to cars. The all-media exhibition is inspired by the Woodward Dream Cruise. The exhibition will take place throughout the month of August 2025. The exhibition is geared for auto experts, enthusiasts and artists! This month long exhibition is an ideal platform to recognize and celebrate the dynamic world of automotive art.

Suzanne Allen is a member artist of Lawrence Street Gallery. Ms Allen describes her process as an artist, "My current artwork consists mainly of acrylic, encaustic, and water media paintings, collographs, cyanotypes, assemblages, and monoprints...My works incorporate fragments and pieces of nature and history, such as leaves, shells, feathers, seeds, flowers and photos, textiles, advertising illustrations, maps, postcards, magazine or newspaper copy, and writing/text...By focusing on the small pieces of a larger whole, I can explore both the beauty of nature and the complexity of history, especially women’s history."

Lawrence Street Gallery is excited to announce the "Fiber Fest 2024 Exhibition." A wide range of fiber art will be on display, with creativity woven into the the selected pieces through crochet, fiber collage, quilting, weaving, tapestry, shibori or mixed media fiber construction.

I have these two pieces--"Gertrude's Peace Dove" and "I Want Red"--in the Caregiving Emerge show currently at Kayrod Gallery at Hannan Center on Woodward in Detroit. If you like them or any of the other wonderful pieces in the show, vote at the link in the information below about the show and come to the celebration on Saturday.
