W. Truman Hosner, Master Pastelist W. Truman Hosner is a Master Pastelist with several pastel societies. He is a Distinguished Master with the Pastel Society of the West Coast. Mr.

Truman Hosner is a Master Pastelist with the Pastel Society of America, the International Association of Pastel Societies and the Pastel Society of Eastern Canada. He has achieved uncommon success:
- First Prize from the French Pastel Society in Giverny, France. The award was unanimous among a panel of five international judges.
- First Prize at the Pastel Society of America in New York City.
- A

three time winner for Best of Show from the Pastel Society of the West Coast. In November 2013 he was selected to lead a delegation of 11 of America's best pastel painters to an International Exhibition in Oviedo, Spain. The United Staqtes was designated Country of Honor among the 27 countries represented in the exhibition. He has exhibited three times in Taipei, Taiwan for the Taiwan government. His work is featured in a book about pastel published by the Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall Museum. In 2014 paintings by Mr. Hosner were awarded the Editha Spencer Memorial Award, Best of Show for a Body of Work in the Signature Exhibition at Paso Robles Artsfest. Hosner's philanthropic interests include two ongoing efforts over the past 11 years:
- He travels to Children's Hospital in Detroit, drawing portraits of young patients in their rooms and gifting the drawings to them and their families.
- In 2010 Hosner founded the Cafe Society Educational Scholarship Fund to assist Northern Michigan coffee house baristas with needed funds to pursue higher education. In 2012 a commissioned portrait sold at a benefit auction for the Traverse Symphony Orchestra for $8900. Hosner donated the entire amount to the TSO.
