San Francisco Peaks Weed Management Area A cooperative movement of Flagstaff, AZ based land management agencies and organizations protecting natural resources through management of invasive weeds.

The stakeholder group for weed issues in the Flagstaff, Arizona region is the San Francisco Peaks Weed Management Area (SFPWMA). This includes local National Parks and Monuments, Coconino National Forest above the Mogollon Rim, Kaibab National Forest south of the Grand Canyon, ADOT, Coconino County, Coconino Natural Resource Conservation District, the Arboretum at Flagstaff, Museum of Northern Ari

zona, the City of Flagstaff, and the Coconino County Extension Service. The SFPWMA is reasonably well funded through matching grants, and has been executing weed control programs for knapweeds, thistles, toadflax, and leafy spurge for several years. SFPWMA provides:
- A forum for inter-agency coordination
- Training for employees (such as county and city public works or parks employees or area firefighters)
- Public presentations and workshops, posters, brochures, flipbooks, etc.
- Representation to agency planning efforts
- Weed plans and weed lists for land managers.
