🎨 Sunday Morning Art 🎨
"Germination," an opaque watercolor painting by Hopi artist Milland Lomakema (1941-2021) Museum of Northern Arizona Collection | C1475

Lomakema painted this striking representation of Ahöla, the Germinator, in 1971, a few years before the groundbreaking Artist Hopid collective was formed. See it in person in our new Artist Hopid Unveiled exhibition, which explores the bold vision and creative legacy of the collective, which included Lomakema, Michael Kabotie, Delbridge Honanie, Terrance Talaswaima, and Neil David Sr.
