My name is Dori Atherton and I am a multimedia artist with a passion for creating, inspiring, and bringing people together through art. Creativity has always been a part of who I am, and I find joy in creating expressive acrylic pours, vibrant landscapes, and captivating portraits of both people and pets. My work is driven by curiosity, experimentation, and a willingness to embrace the unexpected—
because that’s often where the magic happens. Every piece I create tells a story, and I believe art has the power to connect people, spark joy, and create lasting memories. Professionally, I built my career in account management and sales within the communications, telecommunications, and ITSM industries, but my heart has always belonged to the creative world. That passion has inspired me to take the next step and open The Gathering Palette—a welcoming community space where people of all ages can discover, learn, and enjoy the arts together. Whether you're an experienced artist or picking up a paintbrush or working with clay for the very first time, I want the studio to be a place where families, friends, couples, and neighbors can gather, create, laugh, and make lasting memories. As part of that mission, I am committed to continuing and expanding opportunities for crafting, pottery, and art classes and workshops, bringing creative experiences to local communities throughout Northern Wisconsin and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. At The Gathering Palette, creative experiences will include:
