Chinese Heritage Museum Project

Chinese Heritage Museum Project Folsom, CA History We plan to convert the property at 917 Sutter Street, in Historic Folsom, into the Chinese Hertiage Museum.

This museum will commemorate the impact of Chinese and other Asian immigrants on the history of California and Folsom. The Chinatown area of Folsom's Historic District was largely destroyed in a fire and the remaining area was eventually excavated and then covered by the Lake Natoma Crossing. This small building is one of the only remaining Chinese owned sites in the Historic District. This effort

is supported by members of the Chan family who donated the building and site They are direct descendants of Oak Chan, considered the first mayor of Folsom’s Chinatown.
