We are a group of students in grades 7-12 at the New Life Center Assembly of God in Ford City.We were previously "Doulos Youth Group" but we shifted vision and name after we moved in to our new youth room. We are called "The Gallery" based on Ephesians 2:10, which states "For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago."
The name Gallery embodies a firm belief that we, as Christians, are to "display God's greatness to the world." The aim is to promote the heart of the artist through his art. In the process, the reputation of the artist increases. Similarly, as a follower of Jesus, our lives should be like a gallery, where the work of God, is on display for the world to see. Jesus called us to "Let our light shine," so that they when they see our actions they would give God praise. We, as followers of Jesus are not perfect, but we have made a commitment, to work towards adopting the character of Christ as our own. Jesus' character exemplified love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, and self-control. When we accept Jesus, we are embracing His character, a character that is distinctly different than what our culture sees as normal. You can find God's artwork all in one place, displayed at "The Gallery", Wednesday nights from 6:30-8pm. We are a fun group whether we are playing games, hanging out, or worshipping God. We love to see new faces so check us out!
