In 1973 executives of National Office Furniture based in Jasper, Indiana announced plans to build a 61,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Fordsville, Kentucky.
The manufacturing plant opened in January 1974 and employed 100 people.
In 2015 the Fordsville plant was expanded, 42 jobs were added, and production of Kimball's Hospitality furniture line was moved from Asia back to the United States.
In 2017, the Fordsville facility has been expanded to 195,000 square feet, employed 181 people, and manufactures office furniture that is sold and shipped throughout the United States and around the world. The Fordsville plant has played a major role in boosting Fordsville's economy and Ohio County's economy.
