Frontier Army Museum Welcome to the official page of the Frontier Army Museum. The Frontier Army Museum holds almost 6500 objects in public trust.

These objects are used to showcase the Frontier Army from the Exploration Expedition of Captain Lewis & Captain Clark to the Mexican Expedition to Capture Poncho Villa. The Museum also holds artifacts related to the history of Fort Leavenworth from its establishment in 1827 to modern day. MSG Alicia Gutierrez Gillians had a storied career as a WAC. She served 27 years, working for Army Recruiting in Los Angeles and an assignment overseas with the Far East Command. In 1955, she won the First Women's All-Army Tennis Championship held at Fort Meade, Maryland for which she holds the trophy here. Previously, she held titles from the 6th Army Championship and the EUCOM Women's Singles Final.

Army 1st Lt. Frank Luke Jr., nicknamed the "Arizona Balloon Buster" for the high number of enemy observation balloons he shot down, posthumously received a Medal of Honor for his heroics in the sky.

This photo negative shows six unknown Signal Corps soldiers sitting around a table of telegraph equipment. Soldiers are wearing either the P1911 service uniform or the P1911 pullover shirt. A wood cabinet in background is marked "Signal Corps/U.S.A." The U.S. Army established the United States Army Signal School at Fort Leavenworth in 1905.

This Glass Plate Negative depicts an unidentified Coastal Artillery Lieutenant Colonel. Although his identify is unknown, his insignia on his lapel indicate he was Coastal Artillery. Coastal Artillery is the forerunner of today's Air Defense Artillery.

From the Vault – Photograph, Stereographic, "B Troop,14th Cavalry Regiment," c1909
This is a group photograph depicts Troop "B" 14th U.S. Cavalry taken at Camp Stotsenburg, P. I. (Philippine Islands). The Camp, later named Fort Stotsenberg, was named after Colonel John M. Stotsenburg, a Captain of the Sixth U.S. Cavalry, and a Colonel of the First Nebraska Volunteers who was killed while leading his regiment in the Philippines on April 23, 1899.

The only person identified in the photograph is Frank Hornbuckle marked with an “x”. (2nd row from the bottom, 7 spots from the left). The remainder of the groups is unidentified.
