🍂🎃 Scarecrows in the Park 2026 is coming to Lakes Park! 🎃🍂
Calling all businesses, organizations, families, clubs, and community groups! Registration is now OPEN for the 16th Annual Scarecrows in the Park at the Lakes Park Fall Festival! This year’s theme is “Scarecrows at Work” — so let your creativity shine and build a scarecrow that represents your business, organization, family, or group! Space is limited to the first 40 scarecrow entries, so don’t wait to register! Your participation helps support the Lakes Park Enrichment Foundation and funds improvements and programs that benefit Lakes Park and our community.

Our trains🚂 at Lakes Park have been operating since December of 1994 ~They run on a 7.5-inch gauge track that takes riders for about a mile-long ride around the lake and through the north end of the park. The trains travel through a tunnel (with lights & sound), by a waterfall, operating windmill, and goes over a 24' trestle bridge. 'The Railroad Museum of South Florida' operates a popular one-mile miniature train ride at Lakes Park, which takes visitors on a fun, scenic tour through miniature villages depicting Southwest Florida. Also, it travels through a long tunnel, over a bridge, and between wooded areas with views of birds & wildlife.

All aboard for a journey through history! 🚂
The Railroad Museum of South Florida operates a FREE 3,200-square-foot museum located in Lakes Park. Located in the museum is an “S” scale model train layout, as well as an overhead “G” scale train, a “live steam” scale locomotive, and artifacts, including an authentic brass bell from a steam locomotive, rail tracks, lanterns, ticket punches, spikes, tools, and baggage carts on display. There is an interactive locomotive simulator, featuring the actual control console from a decommissioned diesel locomotive.
