AFAM to Host B-25 Walkaround on April 17

The Armament Museum will host, B-25 Walkaround, a fascinating program, on Friday, April 17, at 2 p.m. This event is part of the Armament Museum’s salute to the 84th anniversary of the Doolittle Raid on April 18, 1942.

The program will cover the B-25 aircraft, and the many modifications made that prepared the B-25 for its crucial mission.

The walkaround will be led by Armament Museum Volunteer Dan Steelman, who enjoyed a career as a professional and volunteer at museums that focus on history, aviation, and aerospace. He volunteers in the Armament Museum’s Research Library, is a tour guide, and recently authored the book, Raiding the Rising Sun, The Doolittle Raid – America Stikes Back.

There is no charge to attend, and the public is invited.

USAF Band of the West to Perform March 5 at Armament Museum

The renowned U.S. Air Force Band of the West will perform in concert at 7 p.m., on Thursday, March 5, at the Air Force Armament Museum. There is no charge to attend. The public is invited.

Based out of Joint Base SA (JBSA), the performing ensemble for this concert is the Reed Quintet. This five-piece chamber group performs more than 200 concerts annually throughout southeastern United States, parts of the Caribbean, and South America.

As musical ambassadors, these highly trained professional musicians, and airmen perform for live, radio and television audiences to enhance community relations, and connect with millions each year.

Their appearance is to help audiences celebrate America’s unique heritage in honor of Music in Our Schools Month as well as the 250th Anniversary of the founding of our nation.

The Air Force Armament is located at 100 Museum Drive at the intersection of Route 189 and Route 123.
