We had a blast at the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village! Our first charter bus historical trip was a success!! 40 folks experienced the trip, as Frankenmuth stormed Henry Ford! Today was also the annual Motor Muster, so there was plenty to experience!

Thank you to the Michigan Arts and Culture Council, Star of the West Milling Company, and Prost Wine Bar & Charcuterie for making this possible! We might just make these history trips an annual tradition.... Stay tuned!

Today the America 250 campers went through the museum, made an "old" document📜 writing a message out of ink with a quill pen and then did a walking tour of town.🚶‍We saw Klaus the Cheese Haus mouse 🐭, the Figurinespiel, fudge being made at the Fudge Kitchen (with samples) and finished watching the Glockenspiel.

This small handmade purse was brought from Schillingfuerst, Kingdon Of Bavaria, by Dr. Engel's Grandmother Babette Hoefer Engel. She was the wife of Leonard Engel who emigrated to Frankenmuth about 1880. The small purse is crocheted in white cotton in an 8-rayed star pattern, with a fringed top and beads attacched at the center of both sides. There is also a 6 petal flower in the center of both sides. Such a delicate item that has survived so many years.

You think we are just having fun at America 250 camp? We are... but today the campers also hoed the garden, made butter, swept the log house, brought in wood, sawed a log🪵, crushed apples 🍎while making cider and carried pails 🪣 of water (using a yoke). Funny thing is they WANTED to do all those chores! Do you remember doing any of these chores as a kid?
