Our half-day camps are back!

Looking for something fun and educational this summer? Sign up for one of Capital City Museum’s camp weeks! Each week is centered around a different theme that will help your child explore all that Frankfort has to offer.

June 15th-19th: Civics & Community - To celebrate America’s 250th birthday, we’ve partnered with the City of Frankfort to bring you this camp week themed around civic engagement! We’re teaching campers what it means to be proud of their community and how they can play an active role in making Frankfort a better place. Throughout the week, we will volunteer with local organizations, have conversations with community helpers, and explore the many forms of civic advocacy.

July 20th-24th: Arts, Crafts, and Creative Spaces- Time to get creative! Frankfort has so many unique and varied creative spaces, we couldn’t possibly explore them all – but we’re going to try! Each day, campers will journey to a different site in Franklin County to be instructed in a different art form. They’ll get to try their hand at a little bit of everything throughout the week, from watercolors to weaving, sculpting with clay, making origami figurines, and more!

This camp is designed for children between the ages of 8 and 12.

Each week is limited to 10 participants. Advanced registration is required. If you wish to be put on a waitlist for a sold-out camp, please email [email protected].
In addition, if your child has any known allergies, we recommend providing an Epipen to staff on the first day of camp. Staff are trained in administration.

If you have any questions, please email [email protected].

The Capital City Museum and Grand Theatre Frankfort, KY are coming together to put on a Drive-in at the museum!!!

Come on down Friday, June 5, at 9:15pm for a showing of Elizabethtown!

Aspiring young shoe designer Drew Baylor (Orlando Bloom) gets fired from his high-profile job after the failure of his latest project. To make matters worse, his girlfriend, Ellen (Jessica Biel), leaves him, and he becomes suicidal. Drew's morbid plans are interrupted by the news of his father's death, and he is called back to his Kentucky hometown. On his flight home, he meets the lovely Claire (Kirsten Dunst), a sunny flight attendant who tries to help him embrace life once again.

We will be blowing up the big screen in the Capital City Museum parking lot. Bring your chair, and get ready for a fun family night.
