☀️ Happy First Day of Summer! 🌼🌿

The sunshine is finally catching up to all the rain we've received the last couple of weeks, and the results are on full display across the park. Wildflowers are blooming, native plants are thriving, and every walk down the trails reveals new colors and textures.

Join our fellow Frankfort arts, culture and civic leaders this evening for a community conversation celebrating Juneteenth!

The City of Frankfort, in partnership with FORR and Liberty Hall, invite the community to a Juneteenth Community Conversation panel event. Moderated by Kristie Powe, hear from community leaders about the history of Juneteenth and its relevance in our local community. Come early to experience Liberty Hall's exhibit, Journeys and Generations: The Interwoven Families of Liberty Hall.

Please note, the panel discussion will be held in the second floor gallery of Liberty Hall. Due to the historic nature of the home, the room is not ADA accessible. The event is free but seating is limited.

The panel discussion will be recorded via audio and video for the City of Frankfort Podcast and made available to the public next Thursday, June 25th.

This , we invite you to spend time with Porch Project: Take it to the Bridge by artist Heather Hart.

Inspired by the idea of a bridge as a place of connection and possibility, this sculpture also acknowledges difficult histories that continue to shape our communities. Through extensive research into Frankfort's past, Hart created a gathering space that encourages conversation, reflection, and collective imagination. The work references both pivotal moments in the Civil Rights Movement and the local history of the Singing Bridge, where memorials now honor victims of racial terror.

Juneteenth commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans and reminds us that freedom is both a historical milestone and an ongoing pursuit. As you visit the park, we invite you to sit, share a story, listen, learn, and imagine a more just future together.

Learn the art of pressed flowers as Courtney guides you in creating your own dried flower pendant or keychain using resin. You'll take home a beautiful keepsake inspired by nature.
