Step into history at our next Business After Hours Mixer!

Join the Venango Chamber and Franklin Chamber on Thursday, September 10, from 5–7 p.m. for a special evening hosted by the Venango County Historical Society at the Becoming America 250 Exhibit, located at 200 12th Street in Franklin.

This limited-time exhibit offers a unique look at American history through rare artifacts, beautiful historical paintings and an immersive experience spanning the 17th through 19th centuries.

It’s a great opportunity to connect with fellow business professionals while experiencing an exhibit you won’t want to miss!

Our thanks to the Oil Creek and Titusville Railroad for working with us on the quilt display at the train station, we had a wonderful response, and it was a great opportunity to display our vintage quilts.

Please stop down and see us at Perry St Station for a display of historic quilts today until noon.

Here is your chance to win a beautiful set of three volumes of original Venango County histories, and one high-quality reprint edition. These beautiful and rare books in outstanding condition are a gift of Grant Carner and chances are available for members and non-members alike. They have a combined value of around $500. The price of each chance is $10. The tickest are for sale and the books are available for inspection at the Becoming America 250 gift shop at the corner of 12th and Otter Street, Thurs-Saturday 11-4 PM. The drawing will be held at the EMK-House Museum on the last day of Apple Fest, Oct. 4 at 3 PM.

Looking to find a home for those books of yours that you no longer wish to keep ... looking for some new (used) books to read...
We are gearing up for our 2026 Applefest book sale, one of our largest fundraisers of the year. All sale proceeds will go toward the preservation of local history.

We are still accepting donations of good condition used books (paperbacks, hardbacks, children's books) and media of all kinds, DVDs, CDs, magazines, sheet music, etc. We will have over 7,000 used books on offer from Oct. 2-4 this year.

Just drop them off at the Egbert-Mullins-Koos house, if we are not open, feel free to leave them on the front porch!

We will be selling books at $1 for hardbacks, .50 for paper backs, 3 paperbacks for a dollar, and in the garage we will have antique, rare, and local interest books from $2 up as priced. Friday, Saturday 10 AM until 5 PM, Sunday we will selling books by the bag! Noon to 3 PM.
