The Freedom Historical Society’s Allard House & Works Barn Museum is open on Wednesday from 10 am to noon and Saturday from 10 am to 1 pm through October 7. During Old Home Week, July 28 - August 6, the Museum will be open from 10-12 everyday. During the winter the Museum Archive Resource Room is open every Wednesday 10-12, or by appointment.

Freedom Historical Society presents: “A History of Scarboro Road on October 15 by John Harmon Perkins”

Preserve the history of Freedom and lose the stuff!!
Here are two ways you can make a. difference in preserving Freedom's history:
First, FHS is collecting items for the Freedom Historical Yard Sale Fundraiser on October 11th and 12th, and we’d love your help. Donate your gently used items – furniture, kitchenware, books, toys, tools, and more. (please no beds, microwaves, or electronics) All proceeds support the Freedom Historical Society and help preserve Freedom’s history. Drop off days are this week - Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9:30 AM to 1 PM at 28 Old Portland Road in Freedom. To request additional times for drop off please send an email to fhsociety28@ gmail.com.
The second way to make a difference is to attend the FHS Yard Sale on September 11 and 12th from 9 AM to 1 PM at 28 Old Portland Road. Come shop and support Freedom's history!

The lovely Mrs. Rose Moulton, c 1885. Born Rosilla Drew of Eaton in 1855, she married Augustus Moulton (1828-1908) in May 1874 in Cornish, ME. Augustus was a harness maker and, together with Charles Moulton, owned the tannery that was across the street from their home at what is now 39 Old Portland Rd. Rose was a home maker and mother to 9 children, four of whom were from Augustus's first wife, Mary. Rose died in 1936 and is buried at Lakeview.
