Freehold Art Gallery Where Art lives in Freehold and local artists shine...

Family friendly, browsers welcome! New art exhibit every six weeks: stop in often! Art Gallery. Framing.

Music, event & meeting space. Freehold Art Gallery is located in Historic Downtown Freehold Borough, New Jersey, which was the historic halfway point for stagecoaches between New York City and Philadelphia, about an hour drive from either city. Our Mission is to feature all mediums of art from both emerging and established local New Jersey artists, select works by artists from around country and t

he world, as well as prints, historic maps, photographs, documents, and other unique pieces. The Freehold Art Gallery has four show spaces on the second floor of the former J.J. Newbury Co. Department Store. These unique gallery rooms blend the traditional 19th century salon styles inherent to the space with the needs of a contemporary art gallery, creating an elegant but modern atmosphere for artists to display their work and for you to host your small event or function. We are a BYOB and offer catering services from many of the local restaurants. We also offer live music, artists talks and other public events. The Main Gallery: Showcases the wide array of local talent native to Freehold, Monmouth County, and New Jersey alongside works by artist from throughout the United States and around the world. The Central Gallery: Features eight (8) curated exhibits per year aimed to highlight specific themes or artists and to inspire and expose our patrons to a wide range of art styles and forms. The Reception Hall: Contains our prints, our historic maps, photography and documents, as well as some larger pieces, framing display, and CD’s of local musicians. We hope the Freehold Art Gallery will serve as a hub for the artistic community of Freehold and beyond, as well as a gathering spot for the community as a whole. Who we are-

Community is what we do at the freehold art gallery.

Jeff Friedman and Jill Barba have spent over 10 years bringing local artist and the community together. Each time we can educate the youth an inspire them we are proud. We appreciate all of our volunteers who help us with our mission!

Freehold daisy troop, a troop that consist of 12 first graders from Freehold and surrounding towns, is working for their art badge. Jennifer, their troop leader decided a visit to the Freehold Art Gallery, and getting a lesson on art and the purpose of an art gallery and the different types of art was a great idea. On a Tuesday evening in March, the gallery welcomed them.
The girls went home with a piece of art, and we hope great memories.

As a business owner, and community leader. He has led several initiatives to integrate the arts into the downtown's economic and cultural life.

His key contributions to the arts in Freehold Borough include:

Mural Projects: He has been instrumental in public art initiatives, such as the Mural Park project, where he coordinated with local students to transform a former gas station into a public art gateway for the downtown.

St. Patrick's Day Parade: Friedman serves as the Chairperson for the Freehold St. Patrick's Day Parade, which is organized by the Arts Council and features traditional Irish pipe and drum bands alongside local school bands.

Half Mile of Horses Art Walk: Through his leadership at FBAC and his role as Executive Director of DowntownFreehold.com, he has supported the annual Half Mile of Horses Art Walk, an outdoor exhibit of decorated horse sculptures.

Community Engagement: During the COVID-19 pandemic, he used the FBAC platform to host a blog for artists, inviting them to share their creative endeavors and promoting local artistic voices.
