To collect , preserve and interpret historical materials and artifacts of the life and history of the city of Freeport and surrounding area, being the location of the original colonization of the State of Texas, to work with the Schuster Family Foundation on restoration,operation,and maintenance of the 1917 home as the Schuster Home Museum and to publish historical mater
ials in various mediums in appreciation of the forefathers contributions ,now to be used as educational presentations. Preservation of Historic Schuster House

The Brazos Historical Society began in the late 1990's as the Brazos Heritage Society and was incorporated as the Brazos Historical Society on May 11, 2000.
