POP-UP ALERT! There will be a Pop-Up in the Park on Saturday, November 7. Join us in the Historic Log Chapel from 2:00pm-4:00pm for Native American Storytelling with Leon Joseph Littlebird in honor of Native American Heritage Month. This is also our way of celebrating the area that Frisco was 250 years ago as part of our Sesquisemiquincentennial celebrations, aka America's 250th and Colorado's 150th birthday.

If you’ve been to the park within the last year, you have likely noticed the construction projects going on around the park.
This past spring, we began working on a handful of preservation projects which tie in with our statewide and national initiatives celebrating the Sesquisemiquincentennial (the 150th Anniversary of Colorado and the 250th Anniversary of the USA). Doing so ensures that the buildings in our park have increased longevity.
In order to complete our final step of this project, the Annie Ruth House will be temporarily closed until further notice. For updates on when this building will reopen, keep an eye on our social media and website.
To learn more about our projects, take a peek at our signage or stop in the schoolhouse to ask us about it!
We appreciate your patience during this time.

Did you know that National Fire Prevention Week, which is this week, was proclaimed a nationally observed week in 1925 and is the nation's longest running public health observance? It is intended to promote home fire safety and education. This year, the focus is on reducing risk of lithium-ion battery fires. This Summit County Journal from 1942 mentions that the fire prevention for the year focuses on defence against incendiary bombs due to the ongoing war.

Thank you to everyone who came out and enjoyed our 2026 Mystery at the Museum event yesterday!
In November of 1880, Lieutenant Governor elect and beloved local mine owner George Robinson was shot and killed in a tragic accident. He was examining the conditions of the property with Mr. White and Mr. Brown after having spent the day balancing books in preparation for his leave in service of Colorado, as well as investigating claims against Mr. Brown. Due to claim jumper problems in the area, he had employed security at the mine and instructed them to shoot anyone who was not able to provide the passcode. During their late night stroll, he approached the entrance and did not identify himself or provide the passcode. The guard, Patsey Gillen, shot him through the door. The bullet split when it hit a nail in the door, splitting the nail as well. All four metal bits of shrapnel hit George Robinson, fatally wounding him.
Mr. Robinson was proud of the guard for doing his job well and, before he died, awarded him a bonus for shooting him! After all, it was listed in his agreement with security that anyone who shot an intruder would receive a bonus for doing so. Mr. Gillen declined the funds and moved to Santa Fe, where he spent the remainder of his days.
