Today is National Yarn Bombing Day! You may have noticed the yarn bombing in the park has already begun. This exhibit will be completed by this Saturday, June 13, on World Wide Knit In Public Day.

Drop in from 11:00am-1:00pm to learn basic embroidery and take home your own embroidery kit. If you knit, crochet, sew, cross stitch, felt, or do any kind of fiber arts, head to the gazebo from 1:00pm-3:00pm for our fiber arts group meet up. Fire on the Mountain will be here from 11:00am-1:30pm selling craft supplies. We are sew excited!

Get your history with a side of the great outdoors! Join museum staff for a short 2.5 mile hike around the Peninsula Recreation Area to soak up some nature and learn more about Frisco's flora, fauna, and history this Friday, June 12. Get your history with a side of the great outdoors! One of our newest offerings, the Hike & Learn guided hike takes you 2.5 miles around the Peninsula Recreation Area (PRA for short) with Museum staff to soak up some nature and learn more about Frisco’s history.

It has been nearly 20 years since these volunteers cleaned up the charcoal kilns site and added fenceposts. Our first ever Archaeology camp begins today and campers will be taking a field trip to rehabilitate this site once again! We are so excited to have them here and to work with out friends at the United States Forest Service on such a special project.

Check out this photo of the tracks for the Denver South Park & Pacific from the west side of Alpine Tunnel! The tunnel itself was the first bore ever made into the Continental Divide. The tunnel was so snug that locomotives and coal cars often hit the walls! This photo is believed to be from the turn of the century, just a few short years after DSP&P had gone bankrupt and this line became the Colorado and Southern Railroad.
