Dr. Michael Conlon speaks at the "Meet the Author and Lecture Series" as a featured author.

Dr. Michael Conlon is a retired professor of biostatistics at the University of Florida. He was involved in health research, information technology, and leadership for more than forty years. He is the author of seven technical books and hundreds of research articles and presentations.

The next hundred years will bring many changes, some of which we see today--artificial intelligence, slowing growth in human population, and advances in food, health, and material science.
What will the future be like? What threats will we face? What opportunities will we seize? Join Dr. Michael Conlon for a discussion on his latest book.

Meet the author and hear him as he reads from his latest novel on September 17, 2026, 6:00 pm -7:30 pm for our 3rd Thursday series.

Last night, we were able to attend a special gala in honor of Lincoln High School Alumni Association. The association continues to keep the Legacy of their beloved High School.

The A. Quinn Jones Museum and Cultural Center is pleased to announce our newest exhibition "A Place for All" in partnership with the the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service opening October 23, 2026.

“A Place for All People: Introducing the National Museum of African American History and Smithsonian's National Museum of African American History and Culture” is a commemorative exhibition celebrating the opening of the Smithsonian’s newest museum Sept. 24, 2016. Based on the inaugural exhibitions of the museum, the posters highlight key artifacts that tell the rich and diverse story of the African American experience.

Exhibition features music, dance, fashion and education.

We would like to welcome Dr. Diedre Houchen as our new guest facilitator for the A. Quinn Jones Museum's Meet the Author and Lecture Series 2026-2027.

Dr. Houchen is a creative public scholar. As an act of love and service to this gorgeous world and its inhabitants, she explores liberatory practices in historical and contemporary Black education, experiential learning in informal educational contents, and environmental justice and food sovereignty collectives. She's won some awards and has done some cool projects that you can learn about at www.diedrehouchen.com.

Dr. Houchen serves as the Director of Education for the Cade Museum of Creativity and Innovation. When not otherwise engaged, she's likely at home engrossed in some particular quality of silence.
