Some of the most meaningful learning moments happen when families learn together 💙

This week we wrapped up our final Family Connection parent meeting of the school year with local Head Start families and caregivers.

Together, parents, grandparents, and children explored hands-on activities that encouraged literacy, communication, creativity, and play.

From bubbles and books to sensory play and simple games, families learned easy ways to continue supporting their child’s growth at home through everyday interactions.

At the Galveston Children's Museum, our mission is to inspire children and families through interactive learning and meaningful play experiences. Programs like Family Connection remind us that when caregivers feel supported and engaged, children thrive.

Thank you to all of the families and community partners who spent this year learning, laughing, and growing with us. We loved seeing these connections happen each month. 💙

These squishies have officially become some of the most requested items in our gift shop 👀✨

We just restocked stretchy monkeys, mystery dumplings, balloon dogs, glitter gorillas, and more. Both kids and kids at heart are already obsessed 😅

Perfect for sensory play, rewards, rainy day fun, or just a little surprise after a museum visit 💙

If your child has been asking for squishies lately, now’s a good time to stop by before the favorites disappear again!

Need to get out of the house today? ☔💙

The Galveston Children’s Museum is open from **9:30 AM–5 PM**, and it’s nice and dry inside 🌴☀️

We’ve added some fun summer touches around the museum, so even if the weather says rain, it still feels a little like summer vacation in here.

Come explore hands-on exhibits, let the kids play and create, and enjoy an easy outing without worrying about the weather.

Perfect for families, playdates, grandparents, or anyone hearing “I’m bored” already today 😅

We’re ready to welcome you!

Yesterday was one of those days that reminded us why our community matters so much 💙

We were honored to welcome students and participants from the Ball High School Life Skills Program, Austin Elementary Life Skills, Ronald McDonald House of Galveston, and the Burnet Elementary Stream Magnet Autism Program to the Galveston Children's Museum for a special performance by the Brookdale Galleria “Off Your Rocker” Kazoo Ensemble.

Along with music and laughter, participants also joined us in the art room to help with a special project as we continue updating stools and creative spaces throughout the museum.

At the Galveston Children’s Museum, we believe every child deserves opportunities to create, contribute, explore, and feel connected to their community.

Moments like these remind us that museums can be places of belonging, creativity, and shared joy for everyone.

Experiences like these are also why inclusive programming continues to be such an important part of our work.

Thank you to all of the students, families, educators, performers, and community partners who made the day so special ✨

Today was the last Monday of the school year with our incredible volunteers from the Ball High School Life Skills Program 💙

Throughout the year, these students came to the Galveston Children's Museum on Mondays to help with deep cleaning, organizing inventory, and supporting the behind-the-scenes work that keeps the museum ready for the children and families we serve.

Over the course of the year, they built skills they can carry with them into future workplaces and opportunities—teamwork, communication, responsibility, organization, and confidence. We are so proud of everything they accomplished.

Creating spaces where young people can grow in confidence, develop meaningful skills, and feel part of their community is an important part of our mission, and we are grateful these students were part of this year’s GCM team.

We wish our graduating students the very best as they begin their next chapter 🎓 And to the students returning in the fall, we can’t wait to welcome you back!

Today, GISD students joined families and community members at the Galveston Children's Museum for a special intergenerational concert featuring the Brookdale Galleria “Off Our Rockers” Kazoo Ensemble.

Students from the Ball High School Life Skills Program, Austin Elementary Life Skills Program, and Burnet Elementary Stream Magnet Autism Program enjoyed an interactive performance filled with music, smiles, and unforgettable moments. 💙

One of the most inspiring parts of the day was seeing performers ranging in age from 74 to an incredible 104 years young sharing their talent, joy, and love of music with our students. 🌟

Thank you to the Galveston Children's Museum and all community partners who helped create such a meaningful experience for our students and families!

Something new is happening at the Galveston Children's Museum 👀

We’ve been moving exhibits around, refreshing spaces, and working on updates both inside the museum and out in our outdoor play area, and we’re excited for families to start exploring the changes.

From reimagined play spaces to new opportunities for creativity and hands-on learning, we’re continuing to grow alongside the children and families we serve.

If you haven’t visited lately, this is a great time to stop by and see what’s new… and what’s still coming ✨

☀️ Summer camps are filling FAST at the Galveston Children’s Museum!

Some of our most popular camps—including Sewing, Robotics, Cooking, and both Creator Camps—have very limited spots available, and once they’re full, we cannot add additional campers.

These camps are intentionally kept small so children can have more hands-on experiences, individualized support, and space to truly create, build, and explore.

If your child has been hoping to join one of these specialty camps, now is the time to register before your preferred week is gone.

We’re at the Galveston Island Tourism Summit today! 🎉

Stop by the Galveston Children’s Museum booth to learn more about our exhibits, camps, memberships, and programs—and of course, stay to play a little while you’re here!

We’ve brought some hands-on building fun with us because we believe learning happens best when children can create, explore, and imagine together.

Come say hello, spin the wheel, and see what’s happening at the museum this season 💙

What a great weekend at the Yaga’s Wild Game Cook-Off!

We’re incredibly grateful to be one of the local organizations supported through this event.

Because of community events like this, and the people who show up to participate, volunteer, and give back, we’re able to continue creating hands-on learning experiences for children and families across Galveston County.

Thank you to Yaga's Children's Fund the teams, sponsors, and everyone who helped make the weekend such a success.

Community support like this truly makes a difference for the children we serve 💙
