This exhibit features a model of a machine is called a Mechanical Undersea Trencher (MUT)! This all-in-one, remotely-operated tool digs trenches into the sea floor and guides pipeline into it.

Modern trenchers use advanced robotics, high-pressure jetting, and cutting technology to operate in deep, challenging environments, ensuring vital infrastructure stays safe beneath the seabed.

Our Ocean Star Easter Egg Hunt was a success! 🎊

It was so fun to host a free activity for families over the holiday weekend. We hope you enjoyed the treasure hunt and will come back to the rig for family days!

The Ocean Star Museum hosts Family Days on the second Sunday of every month. We offer kiddos aged 12 and under free admission to the museum with the purchase of an adult ticket. Our next Family Day is coming up on Sunday, April 12! 💫

Reminiscing on our early days 🥹💫

Did you know the Ocean Star originally opened in the 90s?! A group of energy professionals came together and opened the museum as an educational center for the offshore industry, as well as a way to honor all of the professionals who work tirelessly to power our complex energy systems!

In 2026, we’ve expanded our museum to recognize the entire energy landscape that drives our modern world. So grateful for all of our supporters, in the past & in our present 🩵
