I create things including: kiln-fused jewelry, slumped glass items, framed pieces using locally sourced sea glass & more. On the beautiful shore of the Kennebec River in Gardiner Maine, we create each item with love using a variety of techniques and materials. We also offer custom frame making workshops. OPPORTUNITY for MAINE ARTISTS: Wild Seed Project announced their second annual Open Call for Artists. The selected artist will be awarded a $5,000 stipend and will create new artwork for the 2025 Wild Seed Project Guide celebrating the brilliance of biodiversity, and its critical role in building a climate resilient future. Deliverables include: full color front and back cover illustrations; spot illustrations; and a series of plant community or plant guild illustrations (to be determined as the publication develops).

They will prioritize:
– Q***r, trans, and non-binary artists
– Black and Indigenous artists and other artists of color
– Artists with a connection to the northeast, particularly the plants and creatures we live among
– Emerging artists

Mischa Ostberg is offering a class as part of Acadia's Artist in Residency program.

Mischa Ostberg of Ellsworth, who is serving as a resident artist in Acadia's Artist-in-Residence program for calendar year 2023, will lead a free workshop at 1 pm, Tue Oct 3, at Chapter Two, 615 Corea Road, Corea, ME. Tools and materials are provided. Space is limited. Advance registration is required at [email protected]

Participants will be instructed on designing and creating a unique rope art piece with whatever design they choose. Participants will be provided materials to use recycled rock-climbing rope to build a two-dimensional piece with instruction from an experienced rope artist.

This exhibit explores the question of how we discover our deep and abiding connections with those with whom we share our planet in this domesticated and urbanized world.
