Dr. Simpson is a practicing artist, designer and educator who created LAS as an organization to richly expose underrepresented groups from urban communities to use art, design and the business of the arts industry as ways of meeting some of their unmet needs. We promote educating individuals through art, and the acquisition of knowledge through experiential, innovative and creative approaches. Our aim is to develop the artistic abilities of youth and adults while preparing them with skills that foster personal empowerment through exploration, creative expression, professionalism, and self-sufficiency.
