Gaylord Area Council for the Arts Gaylord Arts is a community arts organization operating an art center in downtown Gaylord, MI.

Our mission is to nurture and promote a creative community by facilitating, sharing, and encouraging individual expression through the arts. Gaylord Arts is a nonprofit that provides a wide variety of visual and performing arts programs. We have an art gallery and community art center located in downtown Gaylord featuring local and regional arts and crafts. We organize and hold several performing and visual arts events and classes during the year.

Our next Oil Painting with Richard Onica is coming up!

Join us Saturday, May 16 from 10-12pm to learn all about color mixing, value, brush techniques, layering, and composition in this beginner to intermediate oil painting class.

This class is BYO supplies but we do have a limited amount of items for use on a first come first serve basis - just let us know when you register.

The Ga***rd Community Orchestra is proud to present the world premiere of "Hegemon," a new work by composer Nelson Gast.
Originally from Ga***rd, Nelson Gast creates music designed to engage both listeners and performers through unique musical experiences. He holds degrees in music theory and composition from Central Michigan University and the University of Michigan. Following a period focused on producing and recording music for various artists in Detroit and Ann Arbor, he has returned to active composition with several new chamber and orchestral projects.
We hope you will join us for this exciting premiere, Saturday May 16th 7:30 pm at the Gornick Auditorium in Ga***rd Highschool. Tickets, $20m free of students, are available at the door, or online at Home-Grown: A Spring Concert
