If you guessed B, you are correct! 🎉 Because of its location as the Confederate capital and its border with the Union states, Virginia saw the most battles during the Civil War. Over 100 battles were fought in Virginia, including famous battles like Manassas, Fredericksburg and Chancellorsville.

A person you will learn about at Children of Gettysburg 1863 is Lloyd Watts. Lloyd and his brother John both enlisted in the United States Colored Troops. Lloyd mustered out in the summer of 1865 and returned to Gettysburg to teach in town and serve as a deacon at St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church.
