The Gettysburg Heritage Center focuses on the town of Gettysburg and the civilians who called it home - before, during, and after the pivotal Civil War Battle of Gettysburg. Utilizing various historical documents, artifacts, interactive displays, and 3-D photography, visitors actively learn about ordinary people doing extraordinary things at a difficult time in our nation's history. The museum tou

r concludes with the Civil War Trust's award-winning movie, "Gettysburg: An Animated Map". Before venturing out onto the battlefield, this 20-minute program offers an excellent orientation and overview of the three-day battle. Entertaining to both the first-time visitor, or Civil War enthusiast who visits multiple times a year! Living History camps are set up on the museum's front lawn several weekends, from June through November. Union and Confederate soldiers set up camp, and offered visitors demonstrations about weapons, camp life, and more! Visit our website for a complete listing of dates! Located in the lobby of the Heritage Center is one of Gettysburg's largest and finest gift & book stores. Specializing in apparel, books, gifts, replica weapons, collectibles, home decor, games, toys, and more! Looking to see the battlefield in a unique way? The Heritage Center can help you book your bus tours, carriage rides and horseback tours, double-decker buses, CD car tours, apps, and more! Conveniently located on Steinwehr Avenue, near hotels, including the brand new Best Western Gettysburg, and restaurants such as Appalachian Brewing Co. Plenty of parking!
