Thanks for visiting, C.S. Davidson!

Since we’re celebrating the 250th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, we thought this would be a great opportunity to explore some of the people, places, and stories that helped shape our region and the nation’s history.

CSD staff enjoyed the Adams County Historical Society's new Beyond the Battle Museum, which focuses on the lives of civilians during the Civil War.

Touch a piece of the past that is more than 500 years old!

Archaeologists believe stone querns like this one were used by Native Americans to grind and mix ingredients while cooking.

This particular quern was found on a farm in Berwick Township, east of Gettysburg.

Memorial Day reminds us of the immense sacrifice so many U.S. servicemembers have made in the line of duty.

On our museum's Wall of Honor, we honor the local heroes who are no longer with us.

We are privileged to display the Purple Heart posthumously awarded to Gettysburg resident John Holoka, who was killed in Vietnam on July 22, 1966.

We've got a little piece of outer space in our museum 💫

In 1887, Jacob Snyder set out to plant an apple tree near his home in Mount Joy Township but found a massive meteorite instead! It turned out to be the largest meteorite ever found east of the Mississippi River.

Pieces of the Mount Joy Meteorite have made their way to different museums, and we're proud to have our own fragment here in the county where it was discovered.

Check it out in our Natural History section of the museum, near the dinosaur footprints!
