Tom & Beth Ford
Tom has spent most of his life in Campbell County, WY, where he developed a passion for sketching and recreating the beauty of his surroundings at a young age. Beth grew up in Glen Elder, Kansas, always immersed in creative craft projects. The two met and married in 2006, combining their talents to transform old, discarded "junk" into unique creations. With Tom’s welding skills and
Beth’s creative direction, they began crafting items like railings, ranch entry signs, firepits, benches, and more. The addition of a plasma cutter opened up even more possibilities for their artistic endeavors. Tom’s journey began in his dad’s welding shop, but he later worked as a cowboy for a local rancher—a job he loved. However, when he started a family, he sought a more stable career to support them. He transitioned to working at a coal mine, where he spent over 20 years as a haul truck driver, mechanic, planner, and supervisor. Despite his full-time job, Tom continued to pursue his passion for sculpting and artwork. In 2016, he left the coal mine to open his own shop in Gillette, WY, complete with an upstairs gallery to showcase and sell his creations. So, how did they end up back in Glen Elder, KS? In 2018, Tom and Beth purchased a home in Glen Elder with the dream of returning someday to be closer to family. After completely renovating their home, Tom turned his attention to finding a workspace. When efforts to secure an existing building fell through, they purchased vacant property near Glen Elder Square and built a metal shop. This new space has allowed them to expand their creative journey, showcasing artwork from talented artists alongside their own creations. Tom and Beth are excited about this new chapter and look forward to sharing their passion for art and craftsmanship with the community.
