Our phone is out again....ugh...it was ok and all of a sudden, no dial tone...so until they come out Monday, no phone here...

It was 95 in Glenville at 1 PM today...and supposed to be hot all week, through the Folk Festival. Both of the buildings at the historical society, 302 E. Main Street, are air conditioned. If you need to cool off, come to the Holt House or to the Annex in the rear. We also have cold water. Come check out all the interesting crafters, too.

And don't forget to come either Thursday or Friday evening at 7:30 to tell us your ghost stories!! Unfortunately, Dave Corcoran, Sr, can't be here this year. We will have open mic story telling Thursday night and on Friday night, Dave Corcoran, Jr, will be the moderator and tell us his stories, too.

Yes, I'll be there with paintings and jewelry during the entire festival So will and so will Diane Parish, Friends of the Library, Linda Jones, Normant-West Creations (that's Sarah and Gordon), Catisha Scavairello, Sonia Leimberer Quade, Carol Wolfe, and Megan Merville. Come see us! Thursday, 4 - 9 PM; Friday and Saturday, 10 AM - 9 PM. There will be goats to milk and feed in the parking lot Friday and Saturday, too.

Wednesday,March 20, 2024, Gilmer County Historical Society monthly meeting at noon.
At 1 PM, Bob Weaver, former editor of the Hur Herald, will talk about early industries in the area. Everyone welcome!!
Come to the annex, to the rear of the Holt House.

Robin Pennebaker in the Holt House living room in front of the fireplace today. Open House today 1-4 and she gave tours of the house to visitors.
