Glidden Area Historical Society The museum is open for any family or class reunions that request it be open.

This museum has a variety of exhibits depicting Glidden’s history of it’s residents, businesses, churches, and organizations, as well as the surrounding area townships.

Thank you to Tom Dezotell for the fishing tackle donation and to Alice Schuleke for the excellent military uniform and write up. They are much appreciated. We are looking for a good picture of the Mellen Granite Digger disc from the gym so we can make one to put in the display. If you have one, contact Pam Borman @ 715-264-6950.

We will be putting up two more displays this month. We are looking for memorabilia from Black Bear Forest Products. If you have any to donate, we would greatly appreciate it. Our next meeting is Wednesday September 16 @ 5 pm at the museum.

Thank you to Dan Roe for getting us the computer we needed. Thank you to Jean Heinlein for donating the yearbooks, especially the 1964 yearbook for the alumni that wanted one. You both rock. Thank you.

Come join us at the fair. We will be having our vintage raffle in the Pavilion on Sunday. We will be right next to the Laurie Jean Zach center table. Come check out the variety of prizes you could win.

We will be open 12-5 each day. If you would like to help greet visitors, stop in or contact Pam Borman @ 715-264-6950. We have rearranging displays and organizing things at the museum. There is lots to see.

Do you have a good picture of the Mellen Granite Digger circle that was in the large gym? We would like to make a replacement for the one that is missing from our display. Please contact Pam Borman @ 715-264-6950 if you have a picture of it.

We are looking for a 1964 yearbook for a Glidden alumni. If you have one to donate please contact Pam. If you would like to join us at the Fair in the museum, we would love the company. We could use a few volunteers to talk to visitors, sit at the desk and answer questions, or just hang out. It is always interesting to hear the stories people like to share when at the museum.

Keep us in mind if you have family photos, Glidden area memorabilia from events, fairs, businesses, homes, churches, organizations, etc. if you have any items you would like to donate to the museum or just share them over the fair, we would love to have them here. If you are doing any cleaning out of attics, barns, basements,etc and come across Glidden memorabilia, keep us in mind. We would love to have donations for our museum. If you are not sure it is an item we could use, call Pam Borman @ 715-264-6950.

Do you have a 1964 yearbook? We have a Glidden alumni looking for one. We are, also, looking for the following yearbooks to complete our collection : 1918, 1920-1926, 1928 & 29, 1931-1934, 1862, 1977, 1979, 1981, 1984, 86, 88, 91, 2002, 2004, 2007-2009. If you have one of these to donate, please contact Pam Borman @ 715-264-6950.

A birth certificate and foot print sheet was found in an auction box from the church picnic from Kit Carson County Memorial. If you want them back, please contact us.

W got the 1968 yearbook! Yay! Thank you Cindy Eder. We are working on a few things at the museum. Setting up new displays, rearranging old ones. Gathering items for the vintage raffle for the Fair. Lots to do.

We will be working at the museum as long as the heat is not too bad. There are display cases to move, other displays to rearrange,papers to sort. There is quite the variety. Frank will be working on the bathroom this month. If you would like to help out, let us know.

If you have the 1968 year book, we have an alumni who would be very happy to finally have one. Let Pam Borman know if you can donate it. 715-264-6950. Do you have any photos about Glidden its residents, buildings events, organizations, churches, schools, townships, etc. . We would love to have a copy. If you are not sure, contact Pam.

Our next meeting is the third Wednesday of August @ 5 pm at the museum if you would like to check us out.

If you have some to share, we would love a copy. They can be on paper or a memory stick. Call with questions.
