Granby Miners Museum

Granby Miners Museum We are now open primarily by appointment only. You can make an appointment by calling 417 850-1451. Main in 1987.

The Granby Historical Society began in 1985 and moved to our present building at 218 N. The building in which the Miners Museum is located was originally a mercantile store and is the oldest standing building on Main Street. Our mission is to encourage the preservation of Granby history and the local area primarily through the Miners Museum.

We need new members for the Granby Miners Museum. That's right, we need you! Here's your opportunity to learn more about Granby history and then pass it on at the museum. We are having a board meeting at 9 am this Saturday at the museum. We would love for YOU to attend and join the museum. We will be open at the museum from 10 am to 3 pm Saturday. Be sure to come to the Granby Miners Museum from 10 am to 5 pm tomorrow (Saturday) to see Phil McLees reproduction ore cart! Phil, our vice president, has been working hard to have the cart ready for OMTD. Don’t forget Randy Turner will also be there with his new book Justice For Rowan Ford.
We also have Stephanie Fleming and Shelly Funk, authors of a western novel that takes place in Granby during the mining days of 1882.

Ever wonder if you had a relative working in the Granby mines? The Granby Miners Museum just received the most comprehensive set of cards with who was in the Granby mines. Dixie Hasse put this together after extensive research. They were just found in the old city hall building. Better come check them out this coming Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm Saturday during OMTD.
