Moffat Road Railroad Museum

FIVE years running, and it’s all thanks to YOU! 🚂💛

We had plenty to celebrate at Sky-Hi News’ 2026 Best of Grand Awards Night last night! The Moffat Road Railroad Museum took home 1st Place for Best Museum for the fifth consecutive year, and we were also recognized as a finalist for Best Place to Have a Kid’s Birthday Party! 🎂🎉

To everyone who voted, visited, donated, volunteered or cheered us on: THANK YOU! Your support helps bring railroad history to life and creates new adventures for our community and visitors.

A special thank-you to our dedicated staff, volunteers and board members who put so much heart into this railroad museum with BIG dreams.

We’re proud to be part of Grand County, and grateful to celebrate with you!

Mark your calendars!

We're having our 6th Annual Halloween Haunted Train on Saturday, 10/31, from 4-8 pm. It's a FREE community event, that includes the Haunted Train & Model Trains, and a new addition this year: The Abandoned Depot!

We need some volunteers (of all ages!) to give us a hand with setting up for our FREE community event at the museum. It's a perfect opportunity for High School students to get some easy, fun community service hours over the weekends.

We have animatronics to set up, skeletons to put in costume, spider webs to spread, and lights to hang. Any amount of time that you can give would be greatly appreciated

Call Dave Naples at 970-281-9094, if you'd like to help.

We're seeking more event sponsors for our FREE COMMUNITY HALLOWEEN EVENT! It will be held on Halloween night, Oct 31, from 4-8 pm. If you or your business would interested in being a sponsor, please call Dave Naples at 970-281-9094 or email him at [email protected].

Have time but no cash? We are always in need of volunteers! We'll need help with set up before the event - decorating to spook up the coach and depot, spreading cob webs, and setting up animatronics. Again, let Dave know if you can help out.
