MAGIC WAND found in the Bruce Dice Mineralogical Museum (North Hall, Calvin University) on the Touch Table yesterday.

DESCRIPTION: Approx. 12 inches, light wood, feels slightly tingly, possibly phoenix feather or dragon heartstring.

STATUS: The wand is currently being kept in a high-security location in the museum.

TO CLAIM: Are you a Calvin student who tried to cast Lumos during a recent scavenger hunt? A visitor who tried to cast Alohomora to open the case containing our gold nugget? A visitor who tried to cast Engorgio to make our four-foot amethyst geode even larger? If so, please call the Dice Museum (616-526-8100) as the museum is now closed for most of the summer. You must prove ownership by identifying the wand’s core or by successfully reversing the transfiguration spell on the stapler. If not claimed by the end of the summer, it will be added to our permanent collection.

The Dice Museum is pleased to announce a notable addition to its meteorite collection. No, it wasn't a piece of the Ohio meteorite that fell a few weeks ago and eluded Director Kent Ratajeski's attempts to find a piece. This is a significant specimen of a famous meteorite found more than 10,000 years ago in central Africa. Currently not assigned to any group, it contains an element not normally found in most types of meteorites which has some interesting properties and applications. Stop by the museum to see this incredible piece! Today only! - April 1.
