Declán, who lived in the 5th century, is one of Ireland’s four pre-Patrician bishops (he preceded Saint Patrick in bringing Chirstinaity to Ireland). Declán was converted to Christianity and baptised by Saint Colman. He went to Rome to study for the priesthood and was ordained and later consecrated bishop there. When he returned to Ireland he founded a monastery in Ardmore, County Waterford. Miracles are attributed to him, like the banishment of a deadly plague. Declán died in the latter half of the 5th century and was buried at Ardmore. His feast day is 24 July.

Iarlaithe Mac Loga (also known as St Jarlath) was born around 450 in Connacht, and was educated by St Benignus, a disciple of St Patrick. He then went to St Enda’s monastery on Inis Mór, and afterwards founded a monastery at Cloonfush, near Tuam. His monastic school is said to have attracted scholars from all parts of Ireland. It is said that he chose Tuam because the wheel of his chariot broke there, and to this day, the symbol of the town of Tuam is a broken chariot wheel. His feast day is 6th June.

As part of their Hibernian Hunger Project, members of the Ancient Order of Hibernians (AOH) Private Barney Devine Division #1 of Adams County presented a check for $1,200 to St.

Born around 420, in Sligo, Athracht decided to devote her life to God, but being opposed by her parents, she fled to Roscommon, where her brother Conal had established a church. She took her vows as a nun under Saint Patrick. She founded numerous convents in Ireland, as well as a hostel for travellers, which survived until the 16th century. She was known for her charity and the hospitality extended to travellers and the homeless. Her feast day is 11th August.

Saint Michael is the leader of the archangels and commander of God’s army, invoked as the protector and guardian of the Church. He is the enemy of Satan, and ejected him from paradise. He is considered to be the angel of death, accompanying those who are dying and giving them a chance to redeem their souls before they are judged. He is the patron of police, firefighters, and soldiers, often representing protection and strength. His feast day is 29th September.
