HIGH-WIRE PERFORMANCES ACROSS HISTORIC MAIN STREET -

Get ready for three days of family fun, festival flavors, and unforgettable entertainment at the 42nd Annual Main Street Fest presented by Bank of the West, which will include high-wire performances across Historic Main Street! They will coincide with the Golden Jubilee celebrations to commemorate Mayor William D. Tate’s 50 YEARS OF SERVICE to Grapevine citizens.

Visit Grapevine to see high-wire performers, Antigravity Art, recreate a historic moment from 1914, when Will Taylor, known as “Bill the Movie Man,” staged a high-wire walk across Grapevine's Main Street. The local theatre owner promoted the stunt in the Grapevine Sun newspaper with bold, Hollywood-style flair, promising that during Trades Day on Saturday, May 9, 1914, he would walk, crawl, or even swim across a tight wire from one of the destination’s tallest buildings.

The spectacle was designed to draw attention to his business, Taylor’s Theatre. The following week, the Sun’s editor confirmed the feat was a success, and they later published a grainy photograph that offered a faint glimpse into the moment.

During the 42nd Main Street Fest, there will be six high-wire performances between Grapevine City Hall and The Wallis Hotel (Messina Hof Winery).

- Saturday, May 16 | 11:30am during the Golden Jubilee Public Art Dedication at 11am, 3:30 & 6:30pm

- Sunday, May 17 | 11:30am, 2:30 & 4:30pm

In addition to these performances, enjoy live music on three stages throughout the weekend, including at the Arca Continental Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages Main Stage, which will feature headliners LimeLight on Friday, May 15, and country star Jack Ingram on Saturday, May 16.

The 42nd Annual Main Street Fest takes place May 15, 16, and 17, 2026, on Historic Main Street in Grapevine. Purchase your tickets today for Main Street Fest at GrapevineTexasUSA.com. There is free entry on Friday, May 15, before 5pm and on Sunday, May 17, before 1:30pm.
