The NCNG Historical Model Railroad is a historically accurate and operating scale model of the famous Nevada County Narrow Gauge Railroad. Located permanently in its own building on the Nevada County fairgrounds, the historical model railroad exhibit and display is open during major fairground events, special open houses, as well as by special arrangement with schools or visitors. The fully operat

ional Historical Model Railroad is built to 'On3' scale, and has models of the three major towns served by the now gone NCNGRR - Nevada City, Grass Valley and Colfax as well as historic points in-between. The original railroad ran 22 miles from Nevada City, California, to the Southern Pacific mainline at Colfax, California, between 1875 and 1942.
