A warm snap in fall means cutbacks and conifer work.
This Korean maple lost some foliage to lead burn- so adding shade cloth next season.
This little black pine almost died 3 years ago- and has been slowly brought back to enough vigor to cut back and begin the journey of building ramification. 60% of the foliage had to come off- from bush to bonsai.

The wind caught the big dawn redwood and we had a late season pot tragedy.
On the bright side, they’re tough trees and I was planning to do some root work this winter and it’s likely due for a proper pot.
Into a flat until after Christmas.

Quick shot of a juniper that’s 18 years into the bonsai journey. It took 3 years to get it into this pot from a grow box. Worth it.

This is Nicodemus, the oldest tree here by a wide margin. This spring we will decide whether 2022 is the big repot year, or if he’ll get one more year to prepare for the work.
