Last weekend I finally made my first pilgrimage to Curia Vitkov to volunteer my basic woodworking skills for a construction weekend. The weather decided to make the atmosphere perfect for a cold fall weekend. I plan to return soon!

Last weekend I took part in a tournament hosted by the Goryničové and put my training to the test. I emerged somewhat bruised and wiser for it, but enjoyed every aspect of the friendly and honorable competition. Since it was my first time entering the lists, I can say I was surprised to have won 3rd place in Javelin throwing. My prize was a silver coin and some liquor, but the real reward was the experience of learning from better warriors.

Today on the commemorative day of the murder of Saint Wenceslaus, I took advantage of the national holiday to see the exhibit at the Národní Museum.

Two days ago, along with the reenactors at the Mikulčica reenactment event, we were allowed to look through the depository of the museum there to see some of the most renowned finds of the Great Moravian period.

Within one weekend, on opposite sides of the Czech Republic, I was able to see some of the more significant cultural heirlooms of the Early medieval time period.

The Přemýslid Dynasty Exhibit lasts until October 15, 2026 at the national museum in Prague.
