Blooms and Beds🌷🌼🌸

Raised beds are a great gardening option for all ages. Be sure to see what’s growing in the newest addition to the Edible Schoolyard. Our raised beds are a prime example of how versatile this growing style can be. With endless possibilities for sizes or shapes, you can grow everything from herbs to root crops in a raised bed. As the growing season kicks into full gear, take a moment to stop and smell the roses and all other flowers that are popping up at the ESY!

Meet Anna- our new kitchen manager and educator:

Anna was born and raised in the Carolinas, growing up amongst farms, kitchens and everything food. She attended culinary school at Johnson & Wales University Charlotte and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies from Winthrop University. Anna served 2 years with FoodCorps, an AmeriCorps network partner that provides hands on cooking and gardening lessons, where her focus on connecting students to the entire food cycle from seed to plate developed. Having used her career to envision and implement a world where children know where their food comes from and how to prepare it for themselves, she is particularly excited to rejuvenate the culinary programming at the Miriam P. Brenner Children's Museum with delicious classes and seasonal tastings. When not cooking, Anna loves to travel to new (and old) places to cook (and eat) in other people's kitchens! She also loves to dance, read and go on hikes.
