The People's Perk

My last major project in The People’s Perk studio was a piece for the Greensboro Public Library - Hemphill Branch.

It’s called a Community Art Box, and I was given the opportunity to do whatever I wanted.

I created an interactive piece full of items that “represent” Greensboro that you are invited to touch and dig into, and to read special notes left for you. There are also “Love Notes” inside which you have the option to take with you. I also included drawings of “friends” from my imagination that celebrate all the wonderful people I’ve met here in .

The project timeline has been extended! My Community Art Box will be at the Hemphill Branch Library on Vandalia and Holden until July 2020. I hope you get a chance to experience it. 😊

Hi Everyone: As I sell off items and clean out, my hours this week have expanded to the following times. Come by to purchase a piece of The Perk or say hi:

Wednesday, Aug. 21 - Noon to 6 p.m.

Thursday, Aug. 22 - Noon to 6 p.m.

Friday, Aug. 23 - Noon - 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9 p.m.

Saturday, Aug. 24 - 9 a.m. - noon AND 2 p.m. - 7 p.m.

Sunday 9 a.m. - noon AND 2 p.m. - 7 p.m.

Monday - Friday, August 26-30 noon to 6 p.m.

The People’s Perk is closed. I’m keeping visitor hours of 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday - Saturday until August 28, while I clean up and close out the space, for hugs/conversation/laughs or to purchase t-shirts or art. Thank you!

Winding down these last couple of days with fresh cherry croissants, veggie croissants and . I’m going to miss sharing locally made snacks and with everyone. 6 p.m. Wednesday, August 14 is the end of an era for me. My heart is full. ❤

Oooh fresh Cult Cakes cupcakes have arrived! Today’s flavors: The “Elvis” - a banana cupcake with peanut butter icing and a chocolate ganache drizzle and the ever-popular chocolate on chocolate on chocolate (cake, icing and drizzle are ALL ). Yessssss!
