StopWatch Gallery & Studio is thrilled to present "Callithump", an exhibition of new lithographs by Akemi Ohira.

Akemi Ohira is an artist who specializes in intaglio, lithography and relief printmaking processes, as well as egg tempera, acrylic and oil paintings. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts with Printmaking and Drawing concentrations with the Charles Goodwin Sands Memorial Medal from Cornell University, and a Master of Fine Arts from Carnegie Mellon University. She is a recipient of numerous awards and fellowships, including the Southeastern College Arts Conference (SECAC) Visual Arts Grant and the Professional Fellowship from the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. Her work has been featured in solo and group exhibitions in North America, Europe, Australia and Asia. She teaches Printmaking and Drawing at the University of Virginia where she is an Associate Professor of Art.

"Callithump" is on display through April 25. There will be a reception for the exhibition on April 18, during the Greensburg Arts Walk.

StopWatch is closed for the winter holidays. We will reopen on Saturday, January 3, when "Haves and Have Nots: A Work in Progress" will continue, and we will have a new installation by Suzanne Werder in our storefront window space!

We will be open as usual on Saturday, April 19. Our current exhibition, "The Shape of Things" by Aggie Zed and John D. Morgan, will be on display through Saturday, April 26. Please join us for "The Shape of Things" by Aggie Zed and John D. Morgan, artist's talk and reception at StopWatch Gallery & Studio this Sunday, March 23, from 2 - 4 pm. Both artists are coming in from Virginia and will be delighted to discuss their work with you. The talk and the exhibition are both free and open to the public. The work is fascinating, you won't want to miss this one!

Hey everybody!

We've got an amazing show opening today at StopWatch Gallery & Studio, with Dean Dass giving a free artist's talk at 2 pm in connection with his exhibition "Passenger Manifest".

It's going to be a beautiful sunny fall day, so come out to downtown Greensburg. Make a day of it!

There's a beautiful new show at the The Westmoreland Museum of American Art, "Anila Quayyum Agha: Interwoven". They are open today from 10 - 5, and admission is always free!

You can always find interesting things at the Green Beacon Gallery. They're open noon - 6, and have a ton of music happening this weekend.

Get lunch at Sun Dawg Cafe, coffee at DV8 Espresso Bar & Gallery (only a block away from the gallery), ice cream at Main Street Sweets, or dinner at Major Stokes Bar. Good stuff!

And while you're at it, swing by and check out Greensburg Art Supply's new location.

Enjoy the day, enjoy the drive in the fall foliage of the Laurel Highlands, and I hope to see you in the gallery!
