My love of art came from my mother, who fostered creativity in me and my 7 siblings at an early age. There was always art in the making, models being constructed, music playing, and lots of noise. My mother was an artist, writer, feminist, and a fantastic mom. I feel her presence when I sit down to create and when I need inspiration. My current passion is using many layers of ink, paper, paint, an

d ephemera to create wonderful and often whimsical works of fun. I collect all sorts of things (read junk). Old photos, school books, sheet music, postcards, and the list goes on and on. I use originals in my work as much as possible so each piece is one of a kind. Sometimes 2 dimensional work is just not enough, so I also assemble fun holiday shadow boxes. The best part is going through my studio and finding anything and everything that supports the theme or color of a new mini world. I love giving small bits and pieces, that are often put away, boxed up, or just forgotten a new life. I love to try new techniques and products so check back often. You never know what I’ll come up with next.
