In April 2002 a group of farmers, collectors, governmental representatives and civic leaders gathered to share a dream of building a museum to preserve our farm heritage. With Greenville, IL (Bond County), being in the heart of the agriculture community and almost in the middle of the United States, it was the was the perfect place to turn this dream into a reality. Our main building is 16,000 sq
ft and can be rented for special events. Our other buildings house permanent farm machinery displays featuring equipment of all colors, while another contains a revolving display area and small collections depicting the history of rural America. Outside we have a picnic area, a grain silo pavilion and a small playground for children with farm related things to do. The American Heritage Railroad group offer train rides every Saturday from May through October and during the Christmas Lights Wonderland. The museum is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation.
