Thank you to .sothebys for capturing this moment inside the gallery. We always appreciate seeing how Alston’s work draws people in and subtly reshapes the energy of the room.

“Apertures,” the debut solo exhibition by , presents a new body of oil paintings rooted in an exploration of color, gesture, and perception. The work asks something genuine of its viewer: to pause, to engage, and to stay with uncertainty a little longer than feels comfortable.

It’s rare to encounter work that invites this level of attention, and we are honored to present it here.

ON NOW – “Patrick Alston: Apertures” can be experienced in the gallery through June 13
 
Each painting begins in uncertainty. Initial washes move across the surface without a fixed image in mind, marks are added, obscured, and reworked over time. What remains is a record of that process, gesture and color held in tension, never fully resolved. The longer you look, the more there is to find.

The public is invited to the artist reception this Saturday, May 2, 4 - 6 pm for “Patrick Alston: Apertures” exhibition.

The new paintings featured move between spontaneity and structure, layered compositions built through gesture, color, and accumulated marks that hold traces of time, decision, and revision. Come see the work in person and experience what emerges when you slow down and look.
